David L. Cochran is a Senior Information Technology professional with 30+ years of experience delivering technology solutions to business challenges in the fields of manufacturing, Logistics, education and healthcare. With an entrepreneurial drive have led many initiatives to refine and focus on specific business issues in order to identify, develop, and implement enterprise technology solutions and support strategies to address those needs.
Working in the education field with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, spent time developing solutions for many challenges to include a simulation initiative for the Airways Sciences Simulation Laboratory. Also architected and implemented their first fiber optic multi-campus backbone infrastructure. In manufacturing and logistics working for companies like Western Star Trucks and Magnetek designed and implemented RFID, automated warehousing control systems, Barcoding and Load-planning infrastructure, and backbone voice and data network solutions to serve global manufacturing, sales and distributions facilities. In healthcare for the past 18+ years I have been engaged by Vanderbilt University Medical Center to address solutions for the architectural design and implementation of the communications infrastructure for the Monroe Carrol Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, RFID technology, Wi-Fi architecture, Video Conference, Digital Signage, LAN-WAN network architecture for 10 Million square feet of clinical spaces across 40+ regional clinical facilities including the VUMC main campus. I currently support all backend infrastructure for a growing Telemedicine practice, researching, implementing and supporting audio video solutions, interactive robots, digital cameras and scopes as well as electronic stethoscopes and other clinical technologies.
