Dr. Wende Fedder is doctorally prepared registered nurse with over 25 years of experience in neuroscience and cardiovascular nursing and hospital administration. She has led multiple teams in cardiovascular, stroke and neuroscience program development across the patient lifespan. Dr. Fedder was amongst the first cadre of stroke center reviewers hired by the Joint Commission to launch their Primary Stroke Center certification program. She has worked closely with the emergency medical services, hospital leadership, clinicians, community stakeholders, and patients to develop stroke system of care legislation primarily in the metropolitan areas of northern Illinois. She serves as a stroke council member and consultant to American Heart Association, and American Association of Neurosciences Nursing. Dr. Fedder is a Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) through the American Association of Neurosciences Nurses and her peers recognized her as the recipient of the American Heart Association’s Excellence in Clinical Practice Award. Dr. Fedder is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and she sits of the Board of Directors for the Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago.
